Sibley State Park - July 22-24, 2011

The state parks re-opened on July 21st so we headed out for the weekend to Sibley State Park. The lower campground was only about a third full and there were only 2 campers in the upper campground. Normally at this time of the year, the park would be full. It was a beautiful weekend and we got alot of biking and swimming in. Brad also did quite a bit of fishing and caught 40 sunfish in an hour!

Look how empty the campground is!

No Camping 4th of July

Due to the Minnesota State shutdown (the politicians couldn't get their act together and figure out a budget) the Minnesota State Parks were shut down from July 1 - 20. This meant that our week up at Itasca wasn't going to happen. We decided to stay home and do a staycation. We biked and golfed ALOT, went to the beach a few times and went to the Joetown Festival and saw the fireworks. It was fun, but it doesn't beat camping.
