Hawaii February 2014 - Kauai Day 2

Today we went on a hike from Shipwreck beach (just outside the Grand Hyatt). The hike is an easy one that takes you along the ocean with stunning views the entire way.

After the hike we stopped in Lihue at the Farmer's Market for lunch. We then went to Coconut Grove to check out the shops and there was some music and dancing happening so we stopped to watch.

We rented bikes and biked over 8 miles up and down the coast.

Hawaii, February 2014 - From Big Island to Kauai

Today is the day we moved from the Big Island to Kauai. We had to fly from Kona to Honolulu and then Honolulu to Lihue, Kauai (about 1 hour 15 minutes total flight time). We drove to Waimea for a shave ice and then up to the Canyon.

Breakfast in Kona - great view and great food

Kona Airport - the planes pull up right next to where you sit (outside)

Hawaii, February 2014 - Big Island day 3 and 4

Day 3 we headed to a beach to hang out. I also got some pictures of our resort - the Hilton at Waikoloa Village.

We took a walk over to the Marriott - there is a path along the beach.

Turtles crawl up on shore right in the resort

There are quite a few cats in the resort - they are fed and leave you alone.

Day 4

Today we went on a hike at the Polihola trail. It was very steep and a crazy hike down, but the views were stunning. We then went back to the resort and just hung out enjoying the pools, the beautiful weather and stunning views.

Morning walk outside the resort - saw lots of whales here.

Started our hike here - you go down the trail to the bottom.
