Tucson, Arizona December 13-21, 2014 (part 1 drive to Tucson)

We took a quick trip to Tucson just to get out of the cold and check out some RV Resorts and the area around Tucson. We decided to drive and gas prices were right around $2.00/gallon so it was a good decision.

Saturday, December 13
We left home and drove all the way to Oklahoma City. Almost 16 hours of driving. We stayed at a Candlewood Suites in Midwest City (suburb) and it was a nice stop. The weather had already warmed up and we saw sun.

Sunday, December 14
We left Oklahoma City and drove to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It rained almost the entire way until we got into Albuquerque and the sun popped out. We went to Old town and did a bit of shopping and just looking around. There weren't very many people which we were surprised about as it was so close to Christmas.

We stayed at the Crowne Plaza which was nice, but the outside doesn't look so great. It was in a good location and we slept good.

Monday, December 15
We left Albuquerque and drove to Tucson.

After checking in at our hotel - the Holiday Inn Express in Oro Valley we headed up the road just a mile and did some hiking in Catalina state Park. We also checked out the campground. Nice place, but it sure is different camping in the desert.
